Ask what the photo is for

The words ‘passport photo’ do not tell you the complete specification. A passport, visa, school form and ID card can ask for different dimensions, background colours and digital file sizes. Ask to see the exact application requirements before cropping or printing.

Do not promise that an edited photo will be accepted by an issuing authority. Check its current requirements with the customer, especially when it restricts background replacement or other edits.

Capture or receive the image

Use even light and a plain background when taking a new picture. If the customer already has an image, let them send the original file rather than a screenshot of it. A sharp original gives you more room to crop without making the printed result soft.

With SNP Print, the customer scans the shop QR code and sends the photo from their phone. After the shop approves the request, the image appears in the Photo Studio workspace.

Clean, crop and size with care

Remove a distracting background only when the intended application permits it. Look closely at hair and shoulder edges after background removal; automatic cutouts can leave halos or erase fine details. Keep the face natural and avoid changing identifying features.

Choose the required photo dimensions, then crop the frame with enough space around the head and shoulders. Confirm the final size against the customer’s form or official instructions. SNP Print Photo Studio includes background removal, crop and resize tools, and a preview for arranging the result.

Arrange the sheet and check the printer

Choose the number of copies, place them on the sheet and inspect the preview. Confirm paper size, margins, orientation and colour settings in the print dialog. A small test print can reveal a scaling or colour problem before you use a full batch of photo paper.

A repeatable process helps a small studio serve customers consistently. The best result still depends on the source photo, the destination’s rules, the printer and the paper you use.
